Wedding Cake Tips to make it have the wow factor!

A good reason why cakes should be dealt with after you have made decisions about dress style and reception décor is to enable you to have a blue print for the design and structure of your wedding cake. You need to choose or make a cake that is compatible with the style of the venue, the season, your gown, flower arrangements, or the menu.

If you are having an outdoor wedding, which is most common in a tropical country, stay away from whip cream, meringue and buttercream as they would melt. Ask your baker for a better icing option so that the cake stays in the perfect form during the wedding. A fondant-covered cake comes as the number one choice to use in a hot climate.

Make sure there is a designated cake table that allows the most elegant presentation possible. A round table is perfect for round cakes, a linear cake design may call for a rectangular table. Figure out your options. Once you have a cake table then you can have fun with decorating it with motifs, colours or flowers to match the cake.

Three tiers cake normally will serve 50-100 guest; you would likely need five layers for 200 guests or more. If the reception is in a grand room with high ceilings, then consider increasing the cake’s stature with columns between the tiers.

If you wanted to, you could also use the wedding cake for your dessert at the end of the meal. This could cut down slightly on the expense of your menu and gives it a more personal touch. This way the guests get to enjoy the taste of the cake as well as seeing the beauty of it.
